Tarot of the Buddha Prints

These fine art prints are created on a computer by artist Robert M. Place. Each edition is limited to 1000 signed and numbered copies. They are professional quality inkjet prints on 8.5" by 11" archival 100% cotton rag paper printed at 600 dots per inch. The colors have a rich matte quality and the details are sharp and crisp. Each one is backed with rag mattboard and fits in a standard size frame. They are $20.00 each plus $5 shipping for the first one and $2.00 for each additional one. All prints are shipped flat in a protective plastic covering.

To commence his last incarnation, Buddha descended from Tusita Heaven. As he descended the triple ladder of gold, silver, and crystal, he transformed into a white elephant. Using his tusk, he painlessly penetrated his mother's side and entered her womb while she dreamed.

To insure that his son would be tied to worldly pursuits and not become an ascetic, Siddhartha's father saw to it that he married the beautiful Yasodhara.

Strength
When Siddhartha discovered that all life embraces the suffering of sickness, old age, and death, he left his pampered life and became an ascetic in hopes of finding the cure for suffering. To symbolize his resolve, he cut his long princely hair.

The Chakras


The Chakras
As Siddhartha sat, a seven headed Naga, or serpent, king named Mucalinda protected him from the rain. The seven headed serpent is a symbol of the opening of all seven of Siddhartha's chakras, the psychic centers that ascend the spine.

Wesak


Wesak
In the lunar calendar of Siddhartha's time, the full moon in May was called Wesak. Siddhartha was born on this day; he became enlightened on this day; and he died on this day.

The Sun


The Sun
As the sun rose after Wesak night, Siddhartha became enlightened. Now, he was the Buddha and one with his sakti, a female personification of his psychic self.
